[i]Come Enjoy Jesus Christ with Us!

Here is the text of a tract containing the Spring Meeting Announcement:

Are you tired of the gimmicks and superficiality of what is called a ďchurchĒ today?

Come to our services to hear the preaching of the blessed Word of God.

You will hear the Lordís songs being sung and our great God and Creator being praised.

You will hear Godís people praying and lifting up Christ in prayer.

You will experience Godís people showing forth the love of Christ.

The worship of and service to God of the Holy Bible is the focus of this church.

So much in what passes for churches are entertainment-oriented, but not Christ-centered. It is no wonder that there is a spiritual decline in our day.

We are here to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. That is our objective on this earth. What a refreshing outlook! It is so much better than the empty, apathetic outlook of so many today.

However, before this can be appreciated and enjoyed you must yield to the directives God has graciously set forth in His Word.

First, you must see yourself as a sinner who has violated Godís Holy Law. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Second, you must realize that your sins will send you to hell if you donít receive Godís remedy for sin. Romans 6:23a For the wages of sin is death; Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Third, you must recognize that, though a person may seek to do good works to appease God, you cannot be saved from your sins by your works. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Fourth, to be saved from your sins you must repent of your sins and believe on the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Mark 1:15 And saying (Jesus), The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Fifth, a cognitive believe in the gospel is necessary for anyone to be saved. The gospel is defined in 1Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

These five steps are essential to begin to experience the blessings of being a believer in Christ.

After coming to saving faith in Christ there are two other steps that are required to begin to enjoy further blessings from God. These are initiatory and obligatory steps of believers as found in the Holy Scriptures.

First, after a person is saved from their sins, they publicly identify themselves with Christ and are brought forth as candidates for baptism (immersion) and afterwards, if the candidate has shown that they have met the Biblical mandates, they are baptized and added to a true church. Matthew 3:1-8 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. And the same John had his raiment of camelís hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, 6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Second, those who are members of true churches of the Lord Jesus Christ are required to live holy lives according to the Holy Scriptures. Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

We hope and pray that you will visit with us in our services. Please feel free to contact us if you have further questions. May God bless you as you seek Him.
Andy Proctor
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
2 Corinthians 13:14
